Natasha moved to Nova Scotia from Ontario in 2011 to attend Dalhousie University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Literature and Biology. Natasha graduated in 2016 and went on to attend Law School at the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University. During her time in law school, Natasha did pro-bono work with East Coast Environmental Law, spent her summers working in different boutique law firms and non-profits, and completed a semester at the Dalhousie Legal Aid Clinic. Natasha graduated from Law School in 2019 with certificates in Environmental Law and Marine Law on top of her Juris Doctor.
Natasha completed her articles in downtown Toronto at a trial-focused litigation boutique practicing civil litigation defence. Through this experience, Natasha gained an understanding for the insurance company perspective, but she missed building relationships with clients and working to solve complex issues.
Natasha returned to Nova Scotia in 2020 and joined McKiggan Hebert, where her practice focuses on representing individuals who have experienced traumatic and life-altering events, including medical negligence and birth trauma. Natasha is passionate about gender equity and its intersection with the work that she does. Natasha approaches her work with empathy, compassion, and attention to detail and her goal is to not only achieve the best outcome for each client, but to help her clients feel empowered and like they have agency in the litigation process.
Natasha is called to the Bar in both Ontario and Nova Scotia and belongs to the Law Society of Ontario, the Nova Scotia Barrister’s Society, the Advocate’s Society, the Birth Injury Lawyers Alliance of Canada, the Atlantic Provinces Trial Lawyers Association, and the Sexual Abuse Lawyers Alliance. She has appeared at both the provincial and superior court level in both Ontario and Nova Scotia. Outside of work, Natasha volunteers her time with different non-profits and professional organizations and is always striving to learn more. In her spare time, Natasha is an avid reader, baker, and Pilates enthusiast.
